Playlist for Seven Springs Wine Festival – August 27-28 (Part Two)

Our playlist continues for those wineries (C-F) in attendance at next weekend's Wine and Food Festival at Seven Springs:

6. Chaddsford Winery. Like red wines? You'll definitely want to swing by for their Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. While you're there sip some Merican, Due Rossi or Prioprietor's Reserve Red. Interesting whites inlcude a Properietor's Reserve White blend and unoaked Chardonnay.

7. Christian W. Klay Winery. White wine drinkers will enjoy Blanc de La Fayette and Fort Necessity. If it's a hot summer day, slip into some of their semi-dry whites: Nemocolin Castle and Washington Tavern White are sure to please. (There's also a Washington Tavern Red too.)

8. Clover Hill Vineyards and Winery. After sampling their Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon, take some time at the festival to indulge in some semi-sweet or sweet wines with the Cayuga White, Vidal Blanc or Vignoles.

9. Courtyard Wineries. Here you can enjoy two distinct brands: LaCourette or Barjo Bons. LaCourette offers more traditional Cabernet Sauvignon, Lemberger, Noiret and Riesling; while the Barjo Bons line is more sweet and fun-loving.

10. Flickerwood Wine Cellars. Here's a great place to begin your introduction to native grapes such as Dechaunac, Merechal Foch, Chambourcin or Seyval Blanc. If available, also try their Chardonnay Gold, Pinot Grigio or Gewurtztraminer.

11. Franklin Hill Vineyards. Try out these winners from the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition: Simply Red, Chardonnay, Evanswood, Seyval, Sir Walter's Red and Kiss.

Alas! There is no guarantee that the wines we've recommended will be on hand at the festival. We do hope that we've provided you with a guide of the type of wines you can hope to sample.

Stay tuned for wineries G-L. Cheers!
