Final Playlist for Seven Springs Wine & Food Festival

This is the last posting in a five-part series of the wineries to visit at the Seven Springs Wine and Food Festival this weekend, as well as an idea of what wines you might want to try:

24. Raspberry Acres. Always a regular stop (along with Clem's Ribs) on our way to Johnstown or State College, we were unable to find wines to recommend to you. Please feel free to make your own recommendations here!

25. Sand Castle. Riesling fans should be well satisfied here, but also be sure to try their Chardonnay, Johannisberg Reisling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Dry Rose.

26. Shade Mountain Vineyard and Winery. Expect the unexpected. If available, start with their 005 red blend (dry), then go to the Properietor's Red (semi-dry). Complete your tasting with a sweet dessert Chardonnay or even a white Mint wine good for making mohitos.

27. Vynecrest Winery. While they offer many white wines, you may want to be sure to try Lemberger, their flagship red, a silver-medalist Pinot Noir, Vyneskeller Select or Vincrest Red (their "house" red).

28. Winery at Wilcox. Last, but not least, you'll want to sample their semi-dry Elk County Red, naked Chardonnay, and perhaps the Pina Colada, a tropical version of Pinot Grigio.

So, now you have your playlist. If you haven't already registered--be sure to do so at www.7springs.com/wine. See you there!
